"An example of Trautvetter's alfalfa, (Collector Note, N. Dzubenko). Somatic chromosome number=16; moderately dark purple , with 30% yellow flowered plants (Prosser, WA, USA regeneration 2001). Pods coiled in .5 to 2.5 loose coils, small (evaluation of original pod samples by S.L. Greene, 2001). Comment: Site specific GIS-derived monthly precipitation and temperature data, plus soil classification data available. reidentified from M. sativa ssp. x varia in 2005.
