"This was the predominate Medicago species present. M.sativa falcata also observed at this site but less frequent", (Collector Note). Somatic chromosome number=32; all plants dark purple (Prosser, WA, USA regeneration 2001) Pods coiled, 2-5 tight coiles, 5-9mm dia (evaluation of original pod samples by S.L. Greene, 2001).
